Snail Shells are often carried as amulets of Protection Against the Evil Eye and Malevolent Forces. The Snail or Lumacata holds a sacred affinity with the Summer Solstice. The horn-like structure of the Snail’s invoke sexuality and virility - eating snails was an ancient charm used to prevent a lover from straying. Saint John’s Eve is linked to the Roman Festivity of Concordia, during which the ancient Romans would feast on stewed snails, a tradition believed to rid one of negativity and illness.

Herbs, Roots, Stones and Flowers may be stuffed into the Lumacata and sealed with Beeswax. It may carried or kept on your Magickal Altar as an amulet of magick and power.
